Overview

Customizable Land Development Tools
Autodesk® Land Desktop 2004, built on the AutoCAD® and Autodesk Map™ foundation, delivers specialized land planning features, such as COGO and map creation, terrain modeling, alignments, and parcels.

An easy-to-use interface and centralized project data management help your entire team share large amounts of drawing and project data accurately and efficiently. Land Desktop 2004 helps you with

  • Topographic analysis functionality
  • Real-world coordinate systems
  • Volume totals
  • Roadway geometry

All in a customizable environment that promotes collaborative design and analysis.

Powerful Land Planning Tools
Autodesk Land Desktop 2004 extends Autodesk Map software with discipline-specific land development features and functionality, including powerful and intuitive tools you can use to

  • Create and label COGO points
  • Define and edit parcels and roadway alignments
  • Automate drafting procedures
  • Create, analyze, and visualize terrain models
  • Calculate volumes and contours

Centralized Structure Makes Collaboration Easier
At the core is a centralized project structure that helps you work more efficiently on any size or type of project. All your critical data—points, terrain models, and alignments—is stored in a central location where it can be shared with others and used to create drawings. For example, 3D grids, contours, and sections are all extracted from a project’s terrain model. When the project changes, your entire team can react quickly—all working from the same information.

New Features, New Design Options
Autodesk Land Desktop 2004 incorporates the new features of AutoCAD 2004. So you benefit from better CAD standards management, Oracle® Spatial integration, and an improved thematic mapping interface with new drawing cleanup, topology, and text tools. New XML reporting and enhanced support for LandXML data makes it even easier to share critical digital design data with other project team members. You’ll also benefit from updated coordinate systems and enhancements to Import/Export functionality, road output, drawing classification, and the vertical alignment editor.

Efficient Design, from Start to Finish
Your projects move smoothly from the initial design phase all the way to final documentation when you use Autodesk Land Desktop. In just minutes you can combine existing drawings files with raster imagery, point data, and polygons from GIS sources. Plus, you can build terrain models that display topographic conditions across the site.

Features

Autodesk® Land Desktop 2004 has specialized land planning features for all type of land development projects. Find out more about the updated technology inside Autodesk Land Desktop 2004.

New Functionality of AutoCAD 2004 / Autodesk Map 2004

Autodesk Land Desktop 2004 is built on Autodesk Map™ 2004, so you have access to powerful drafting and base mapping functionality in one product. Plus, you have full DWG compatibility and all of the new features that are included in AutoCAD® 2004.

LandXML support

LandXML is rapidly becoming a standard data format for civil engineering and surveying project data such as points, terrain models, alignments, and parcels. The ability to import and export LandXML allows you to share data with other applications.

Point Management and Reporting

This is an efficient method of defining and managing point collections into logical and clear groupings. Point groups also allow users to represent data from a single point in multiple ways, eliminating unnecessary duplication of points. The result – increased performance and a streamlined project.

Plan Alignments

The ability to lay out road alignments using graphical and tabular input and editing functions provides flexibility to meet a variety of different design challenges and techniques.

Alignment Annotation

With this feature, you can quickly and accurately draft stationing, station/offset labels, and offset alignments that match drafting requirements.

Parcel Definition and Management

Lay out parcels using standard AutoCAD functions or focused lot sizing commands.

Create line, curve, and spiral labels

These associative labels react to changes in the geometry that you are labeling to ensure accurate label values and locations for all geometry.

Label Styles

A style-based mechanism to control label appearance and drafting helps to ensure that all drafters will create consistent finish drafting for labels and tables.

Terrain model creation

Create a surface from a variety of 3D data including points, contours, breaklines, AutoCAD entities, and more.

Contour Creation

Create contours directly from a terrain model or using flexible layout commands. Styles help to control contour appearance, smoothing and label characteristics.
